It is powered by solar energy or 3 AA batteries (not included), with a maximum wireless transmission distance of 328 feet.
NOTE: Please refer to the video on this page for detailed installation instructions. The weather station can only connect to WiFi when it is plugged in. It cannot be connected when it is powered by battery. It only supports 2.4GHz wireless network. When running on battery power only, the display stays off to save power—touch the top button to wake the display for 15 seconds. When using the power adapter, the display stays on.
